7 Simple Tips to Develop Concentration
Concentration
is one of the most essential skills needed in life. Whether you are studying, singing, writing, working or be it
anything, you need concentration to complete it well. Any job can be done faster and efficiently, if you are able
to apply your concentration on it. But how many of us really know how to concentrate? Do we all know how to keep
out all the distractions around us? How do we intentionally make ourselves aware of the task in front of us? How do
we develop concentration skills?
You may use the
following tips to learn the art of concentration:
Take
up one task at a time - You would be able to focus on that
particular task if you do not distract yourself with too many things to do at once. Concentrate on the details of
the job and draw a plan to do it within a specific time period. If you really concentrate on the task you would be
giving your undivided attention to the task at hand and the result would be a job well done.
Take
a fresh look at the job you are doing–
When you take a fresh look at a task you tend to see the task in its entirety. You would be able to observe
the details and gain new insights when you concentrate on the job to give you a whole picture of the
task.
Clear your mind by writing down– When you have too many
tasks to do, writing them down would help you to prioritize and finish them on time. Make a list of tasks you have to do and set a time period to complete each task.
This way you would be able to give all your concentration for each task from your list.
Be
specific about your proceedings– When
you take up a task be clear in your mind about what you want to accomplish and how you are going to go about the
job. Plan on the resources you are going to use and the time you would spend on each of these resources. Such
resources may include people, books, etc. Be very specific about every detail pertaining to the procedure to
complete the task.
Take
up a task enthusiastically – When you love what you do and
do it wholeheartedly you tend to give your hundred percent concentration and effort. This would give you lot of
satisfaction when you successfully complete the job.
Do
not forget to reward yourself – After completing your task
remember to give yourself a reward. Self-reward increases motivation and helps you to concentrate and achieve more
in life.
Develop your concentration power through
exercises– You could develop concentration skills
through certain exercises. These are available on the Internet and books. Practice concentration exercises
such as deep breathing, meditation, staring at only a dot on a piece of white paper, etc.
You could use
your power of concentration to achieve your goals and desires that enhance your life.
